Kasia Kowalczyk was born by the icy Baltic Sea in Poland during an era of turmoil. This experience sparked her desire to escape from the mundane and sometimes frightening adult world into something mythical. She immigrated as a child to Atlanta, GA where she terrified other kids with her Eastern European sensibilities. After abandoning her dream of becoming an astronaut, Kasia found refuge in filmmaking.

Having worked in theatre and film for over a decade as a director, designer and prosthetics actor, she began to solidify her vision as a filmmaker. Her focus is to create movies that are outside of reality yet deeply familiar…hoping to create a new mythology with each film.  She currently lives in Los Angeles with her loveman and several furry creatures.
